CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne Little Theatre Players is hosting a show in early February to help fund repairs for its local playhouse.
The local arts organization is hosting two nights of performances for its new production, “Men of Broadway,” on Friday, Feb. 2 and Saturday, Feb. 3. Audience members have the option of enjoying the performances as part of a dinner show.
Tickets for the show, which are now available, will go toward fixing the leaking roof of Mary Godfrey Playhouse, which CLTP owns. The organization is aiming to raise $60,000 to go toward the repairs, managing director Ceara Madson told Cap City News.
“Men of Broadway” is set to feature “a whole lot of the best of Broadway,” Madson said. The performance will feature dance numbers and songs from different periods in Broadway’s history. Madson said the show aims to examine “the roles guys played on Broadway and how it’s changed over the years.”
Production for the show initially started in March 2023, and auditions were held in December. The Cheyenne theater organization revealed its cast list on Dec. 21:
- Josh Cooper
- Travis Kirchhefer
- Matt Hockersmith
- Dave Hall
- Jacob Smith
- Tucker Gosbee
Madson said that rehearsals began a few weeks ago, with the seventh full rehearsal taking place on Wednesday night.
“I was really blown away by the voices and the talent on stage,” Madson said.
Doors will open for “Men on Broadway” at 5:30 p.m. at Historic Atlas Theatre, 211 W. Lincolnway. General admission costs $30, while dinner tickets are $60. To purchase tickets, call 307-638-6543 or visit here for general admission or here for the dinner show.
