CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Second City is coming to Cap City. That’s according to a news release from Laramie County Community College, which announced that Second City Improv — a troupe which launched the careers of famed entertainers like Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Bill Murray and others — is performing at the college on Feb. 5.
The Second City is “celebrated for its sharp improv and musical comedy,” the release stated, and it will be presenting its “Mo’ Funny, Less Problems” show at the Surbrugg/Prentice Auditorium on LCCC’s Cheyenne campus.
“Founded in Chicago in 1959, The Second City is renowned as proving ground for some of the most influential comedians and actors in entertainment history,” the release states. “Its performances, which blend audience-inspired improvisation with polished sketches, have influenced cultural milestones like ‘Saturday Night Live’ and ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?'”
The event is happening on Wednesday, Feb. 5. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The show is free and open to the public, though special VIP tickets are available for $10, which include a reserved seat and a post-show meet-and-greet.
