CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper Municipal Court will be rescheduling cases that were originally docketed for the week, after the unexpected passing of a Municipal Court employee.
“We’re rescheduling the Court Cases regrouping, making sure we have all bases,” City of Casper Manager Carter Napier said on Tuesday. “A judge determined that was appropriate.”
Casper Municipal Court Judge Cally Lund says that cases that were docketed to be heard this week have been rescheduled. She further said that the court has attempted to contact persons who were scheduled to appear.
If a person has a case scheduled for this week and has not received a call, they are asked to please contact the Municipal Court at (307) 235-8267, and city personnel will take a message and have a Municipal Court representative call back.
The Municipal Court is not taking direct calls at this time, and calls are being routed to the Casper Police Department and the City of Casper.
Lund also said that any Municipal Court payments that were due this week can be paid via telephone, online, or by postmarked mail. Payments will not be taken at the Municipal Court window.
The Casper Police Department announced over the weekend that they are investigating a “possible domestic homicide,” in which two people were reportedly found dead at a Casper home.
Court officials confirmed that one of the individuals was an employee of the Municipal Court.
