UPDATE, 10:55 a.m. — The department announced via social media that the area was cleared. The announcement came shortly before 11 a.m.
CHEYENNE, Wyo. — At 8:06 a.m., the Cheyenne Police Department reported that officers were responding to East High School for a report of a student with a knife.
A student has been detained, and officers believe there’s no ongoing threat to the school or the community.
No injuries have been reported.
“Due to the nature of the call, there is a heavy law enforcement presence in the area,” the department said in a release.
