CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne’s Downtown Development Authority is hosting two public outreach sessions later this week for residents, businesses and visitors to learn about the Downtown Plan of Development Update and provide feedback.

This round of outreach follows a survey conducted earlier this year. The DDA will share results of that survey and share how that information will be incorporated into the next step of the Plan of Development process.

The first outreach meeting will take place Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Westby Edge Brewing Company, 714 W. 20th St. The second one will occur Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Winter Farmers Market at the Cheyenne Depot on 15th Street.

The DDA entered into a contract agreement in September to update its Downtown Plan of Development Update, according to the municipal authority’s website. The development update will take 12–18 months to complete and is split up into five phases:

  • Phase 1: October 2023 – January 2024
  • Phase 2: February – May 2024
  • Phase 3: May – July 2024
  • Phase 4: August – December 2024
  • Phase 5: January – March 2025

The purpose of the update process is to cement a new vision for the future of downtown, follow guiding policies and implement action items for achieving the vision. The plan will provide a blueprint for strategies that promote economic vitality and increase public activities while enhancing the historic western charm of Downtown Cheyenne.
