CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority is petitioning to add new land into its development district. The land would help support the DDA’s Reed Avenue Corridor Project.

At its Monday night meeting, the Cheyenne City Council took up a resolution that would grant extra land to the DDA’s Downtown Development District. The land in question, known as the Mead Triangle, is located just north of 22nd Street between Snyder and Reed avenues.

Councilmembers on the Public Services Committee will review the resolution at their July 16 meeting. Then, City Council members will make a final decision at their July 22 meeting.

According to the City of Cheyenne’s website, the purpose of the Reed Avenue Corridor Project is to convert Reed Avenue’s right of way for safe pedestrian and bicycle access, bolster economic opportunities and establish a space for gatherings and events. The project is currently underway.
