CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Downtown Cheyenne resembled a slideshow Saturday morning as generations of Wyoming history and culture rolled down Capitol Avenue.

Thousands of residents and visitors lined up along streets downtown to catch a glimpse of the first Cheyenne Frontier Days Grand Parade, which commenced at 9 a.m. near the Wyoming State Capitol. Wyoming’s rich tapestry of culture and history were on full display as marching bands, cowboys, military personnel and elected officials traversed downtown on foot, horseback, bicycles, carriages and vintage 20th century vehicles.

The 2024 Cheyenne Frontier Days celebration officially kicked off Friday. Three more parades are scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
