CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A crash near the Shirley Basin on Sunday, Sept. 15 resulted in the closure of a portion of WY-487 in the Shirley Basin.
Sergeant Jeremy Beck with the Wyoming Highway Patrol confirmed on Monday that the crash resulted in at least one fatality.
Because next of kin had not yet been notified, Beck said that he couldn’t release further information until later.
WY-487 between the north and south junctions of WY-77 was closed at 3:09 pm due to the crash near mile marker 37. The Wyoming Department of Transportation said the road was re-opened at 9:11 pm.
Traffic was detoured along WY-77.
