CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The City of Cheyenne plans to construct a community splash pad on the downtown Depot Plaza.

The estimated cost of constructing the water feature is about $550,000, according to Visit Cheyenne.

Fundraising efforts generated $300,000 toward the project, with the city committing the remaining $250,000.

Vortex International was contracted in late 2018 to provide the design and build services for the project.

TC Solutions, LLC was contracted to provide owner’s representative services to ensure the project is completed in a timely fashion and within the budget.

That $31,000 contract between TC Solutions and the City of Cheyenne was entered into on April 30, 2019.

It stipulated that the services provided by TC Solutions should be complete by Dec. 31 of this year.

However, the Cheyenne City Council referred a change order to the contract to their Finance Committee during their Monday, Dec. 9 meeting. That pushes the “time of performance” deadline in the contract back a year to Dec. 31, 2020.

The change order does not modify the $31,000 budget stipulated in the contract with TC Solutions.

Visit Cheyenne says that the splash pad would be built “behind the stage in the peanut-shaped area currently filled with gray gravel” at the Depot Plaza.
