A Cheyenne High School was locked down during the afternoon hours Monday, after reports were received of “obscene” graffiti.

“As a precaution, Central High School went into lockdown at 1:15 p.m. on Monday, March 9, due to vandalism containing obscene words that were reported to a Central High administrator,” Laramie County School District #1 officials said Monday. “The Cheyenne Police Department was notified.”

The district statement goes on to say that after investigating, law enforcement deemed the message to be not-credible, and the lockdown was lifted at 1:41 pm.

During this time, district officials say that all students and staff remained safe.
