NWS issues Winter Weather Advisory for Cheyenne

CHEYENNE, Wyo – The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of southeastern Laramie County.

The advisory is set to begin at noon on Friday, March 27th and run through 5am Saturday morning. This advosory is for Wheatland, Chugwater Cheyenne and Pine Bluffs.

According to the NWS, this low pressure system is anticipated to move northeast across the central Rockies and Plains Friday through Saturday. Rain and snow showers are expected to change to snow as colder air wraps around the low pressure system.

Light to moderate snow is expected with accumulations of two to five inches.

“Travel impacts will be likely, especially Friday as shower activity becomes moderate,” the National Weather Service said.

After this storm front moves out the area, the weather service predicts that we will return back to milder conditions by the beginning of next week.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect across the Snowy and Sierra Madre Ranges through Friday evening.
