CASPER, Wyo. — A number of large rodeos in Wyoming were cancelled this summer due to COVID-19.

These rodeos are planning to return in the summer of 2021:

  • Cheyenne Frontier Days
  • Central Wyoming Fair & Rodeo
  • Laramie Jubilee Days
  • Sheridan Wyo Rodeo
  • Thermopolis Cowboy Rendevous

The committees for these rodeos on are offering “Comin’ Back for the Re-Ride 2021” t-shirts to help support the Wyoming Hunger Initiative, Cheyenne Frontier Days Chief Marketing Officer Nicole Gamst announced on Friday, July 17.

“We’ll be Comin’ Back for the Re-Ride in 2021,” the announcement states. “Until then, help our Wyoming Rodeo Committees support Wyoming communities with the Re-Ride Tee! 100 percent of the net proceeds will be donated to the Wyoming Hunger Initiative.”

The Wyoming Hunger Initiative is an effort spearheaded with support from Wyoming First Lady Jennie Gordon which aims to address food insecurity in the state. The initiative supports nonprofits around the state working in this area.

“From Casper’s Food for Thought Project to Laramie County’s Friday Food Bag Foundation and scores of grassroots efforts in between, there is no question that Wyoming residents are committed to fighting hunger every day,” the Wyoming Hunger Initiative says. “Wyoming Hunger Initiative seeks to build greater awareness and increase collaboration and participation in the fight against childhood hunger; we envision a day where no Wyoming child experiences food insecurity and the barriers it brings. We are uniquely positioned to affect significant change as an advocate and clearinghouse for existing programs.”

The Cheyenne Frontier Days website has further information about the t-shirts.
