CHEYENNE,Wyo.— This week will be the official launch of the Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) Program, according to a press release from the Cheyenne Police Department.
“LEAD is a collaborative pre-arrest diversion program between the community and law enforcement that diverts arrests for misdemeanor nonviolent offenses that occur due to substance use, mental health, and poverty,” police officials said.

The public is encouraged to attend the community meeting that will be held on Thursday September 17 from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Cheyenne Public Safety Center 415 W 18th St, in the first-floor community room.
