Sheriff’s K9 alerts officers to 19 lbs of suspected marijuana products Friday

CASPER, Wyo — A  Laramie County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) K9 unit helped officers discover of approximately 19 pounds of suspected marijuana and derivative products Friday, Dec. 18, the agency said on social media.

Shortly before 6:30 pm Friday,  LCSO responded to a request from Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers for the assistance of a K9 team on a traffic stop.

“Upon arrival, Deputy J. Grimm deployed K9 Arie to perform a free air sniff of the vehicle,” LCSO said. 

“K9 Arie alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics within the vehicle.”

A subsequent search of the car revealed:

  • 14.4 pounds of suspected raw marijuana
  • 2.6 pounds of suspected THC wax 
  • 2 pounds of suspected liquid THC.
