CHEYENNE, Wyo. –The weekly “Cruise The Legend” event that became a way for the residents of Cheyenne to stay connected to one another at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic last spring was given an official nod of approval from the Cheyenne City Council.
During their April 12nd, 2021 meeting, Cheyenne’s Governing Body moved forward with a resolution to officially support the event. The resolution was sponsored by council members White, Seagrave, Johnson, Esquibel, Cook, Aldrich, Rinne, and Roybal.
Councilman Pete Laybourn, while not a sponsor of the resolution offered his support over the weekly event. He cited his concerns over a few “bad actors” who violate city ordinances during the cruise.
Mayor Patrick Collins called on event organizers to help ensure those who attend the event to be mindful of the people who live in the neighborhoods that the cruise route runs by.
The measure was passed with a unanimous vote.
Last year, organizers used the event to raise money for various different groups in Cheyenne.
