The Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization will be hosting a public meeting to get community input on the future of a Cheyenne roadway.

Officials say they will be discussing the “Walterscheid Boulevard corridor,” described as running from from Deming Drive to West College Drive.

Officials with the MPO say that South Cheyenne is expected to continue to grow and develop, which has led to the anticipation of increased traffic in the area.

“The primary goal of the project is to provide a conceptual plan for Walterscheid Boulevard that meets the future mobility needs of the residents and businesses along the corridor and throughout South Cheyenne,” MPO said in a written statement released to media on May 24.

The meeting will take place at Rossman Elementary Schoo, 916 West College Drive.

The meeting will begin with a presentation and dialogue from City, County, design team, community members, and the MPO .

While this meeting will be in-person, the presentation will be streamed via the MPO’s Facebook page: www.facebook.com/PlanCheyenne.

“Your input is extremely valuable, and the success of the project is largely dependent on community involvement. The Cheyenne community is invited to review, comment, ask questions, and stay connected,” MPO officials said Monday. “Visit the MPO’s website and join the mailing list to stay informed. Your continued involvement is important to making Walterscheid Boulevard meet the mobility needs of our community.”
