Volunteers celebrate Earth Day by beautifying local park

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — While oftentimes our heads are up in the clouds, it’s time to get down to earth this Friday, April 22, 2022. Citizens of Earth, we’re here with good news: It’s Earth Day! It’s a time to celebrate, protect, and advocate for the planet we call home.

According to a release from the Cheyenne Urban Forestry staff, they, “along with volunteers from CNSI, will be celebrating Earth Day on Saturday, April 23rd by planting trees and sprucing up landscaped beds at Holliday Park.”

To celebrate this day, it is time to get in touch with your inner green thumb! The Cheyenne Urban Forestry is planting a variety of shade and ornamental trees to replace trees that were recently removed due to old age and disease.

The project will work Saturday to improve Holliday Park’s tree canopy and appearance, benefiting generations to come.

They will have approximately 12 staff members from the fiscal agent for the State of Wyoming Division of Healthcare Financing responsible for core claims and TPL processing, but they are calling for more volunteers.

If you are interested in helping with this Earth Day Project or volunteering in the future, you can reach out to Urban Forestry at 307-637-6428 or mellison@cheyennecity.org.
