CHEYENNE, Wyo. — “Forgotten Objects” is the theme for the Community Recreation & Events Departments Photo Contest and Exhibition this year.

This event will be held Sept. 2–30 at the Cheyenne Civic Center, 510 W. 20th St.

According to a release from the city, the theme is designed to showcase elapsed but cherished items that once shared countless memories.

Photographers may enter in one of three categories: Youth, Amateur, or Proficient photography. The contest is limited to the first 150 photos. Awards will be issued for first-, second-, and third-place winners, as well as Best of Show.

A reception will be held on Sept. 1 for artists and their families from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Cheyenne Civic Center Lobby.

Brochures and entry forms with detailed information may be picked up at the Kiwanis Community House at 4603 Lions Park Drive or at www.cheyennerec.org.

Registration is ongoing through Aug. 5, and the entry fee is $5 per photo with a three-entry cap. For youth entries, the first photo will be free, with a limit of 15 free entries in the youth division. If a youth participant submits more than one photo, each photo after the first will be $5, with a max of 3 photos.
