CHEYENNE, Wyo. — With summer heating up, the city of Cheyenne would like to remind those who would like to run semi-permanent items such as ice cream stands and snow cone shacks that they are required to apply for a temporary-use permit.

This permit can be found here, and the fee is $600.

A temporary-use approval is intended to provide flexibility for different uses within a specific zoning district. An application for a permit may be initiated by the property owner or authorized agent.

The duration of the proposed use complies with the following:

  • Signage that is off-premise will not exceed 30 consecutive days and will not occur more than twice a year with 15 consecutive days between occurrences
  • Temporary uses associated with a national, state, or emergency declaration will be allowed to operate during and 90 days after the conclusion of said emergency.
  • All other temporary uses shall not be granted more then 60 consecutive days and cannot occur more then twice in a year period.
