Fallen Wyoming Marine to pass through Cheyenne

Cpl. Seth Rasmuson (U.S. Marines)

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The body of a Wyoming Marine killed earlier this month is scheduled to pass through Cheyenne this afternoon on the way to Buffalo, where he will be buried.

Cpl. Seth Rasmuson, who graduated from Buffalo High School in 2019, was among the five Marines killed on June 8 after an Osprey aircraft crashed in southern California. Rasmuson’s family confirmed his death with the Buffalo Bulletin in the days after the crash.

According to the Marine Corps Times, the aircraft belonged to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing based at Camp Pendleton, California, and went down just after noon on Wednesday during training.

Calls have been going out on social media to rally the public to line Interstate 25 to pay respects to the fallen Marine. A schedule, reportedly shared by Harness Funeral Home, which is in charge of Rasmuson’s funeral, states that Rasmuson’s body will reach the Wyoming state line and pass through Cheyenne around 4 to 4:30 p.m.

The travel schedule indicates the motorcade will arrive in Buffalo between 8:15 and 8:30 p.m.
