CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Laramie County School District 1’s free summer meal program will be paused Friday through Monday for the Fourth of July holiday.
The school district offers meals for students ages 18 and younger. The program started June 13 and uses federal funds from the Summer Food Service Program to provide the meals throughout the district.
When the program was announced, the district said there would be no food service from Friday, July 1, through Monday, July 4.
About two weeks ago, the district announced the closure of the Arp Elementary School summer food site, citing low participation.
When service resumes Tuesday, July 5, the following sites will offer breakfasts and lunches throughout the summer:
- Addlerbach Elementary, 400 W. Wallick Road, will be offering meals Monday–Thursday, June 13–July 21. Breakfast will take place from 7:30 to 8 a.m. and lunch will take place from noon to 12:30 p.m.
- Baggs Elementary will be offering meals Monday–Thursday from June 13 to Aug. 5 at 3705 Cheyenne St. Breakfast will be held from 7:30 to 8 a.m. and lunch will be from noon to 12:30 p.m. Only lunch will be served after July 22.
- The Cheyenne YMCA, 1426 Lincolnway, will be offering lunches only. The meals will be provided Monday–Friday, June 13–Aug. 5 from 11 a.m. to noon. Meals will not be provided on July 27.
- Breakfast and lunch will be served at Johnson Junior High, 1236 Alison Road. These meals will be served Monday–Thursday from June 13 through July 21. Breakfast will be held from 8:15 to 8:45 a.m. and lunch will be from 1:15 to 1:45 p.m.
- Rossman Elementary, 916 W. College Drive, will be offering meals Monday–Thursday from June 13 through July 21. Breakfast will be held from 7:30 to 8 a.m. and lunch from noon to 12:30 p.m.
- Meals will be served Monday–Thursday from June 13 through July 21 at Sunrise Elementary, 5021 E. 13th St. Breakfast will be held from 7:30 to 8 a.m. and lunch will be from noon to 12:30 p.m.
All meals will be served on site, and grab-and-go meals will not be permitted.
