CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Several changes in the amendments for part-time officers will be discussed during the City Council meeting tonight, Aug. 8.

The amendments would be to section 2.08 of the City Code, which details the code surrounding City Officers and Employees.

Of the many proposed amendments, the first is to allow for part-time officers as well as reserve officers, who would serve for a specific amount of time as set out by a certificate from the police department. The original amount of time set in the code was two years.

There are also additions proposed to what requirements would be necessary for part-time officers. They also make a distinction between part-time officers, who would be paid, and reserve officers, who are considered in the proposed revisions as volunteer officers.

Along with this, almost an entire section of the code is proposed to be taken out; this section strictly regards reserve officers.

You can find the proposed amendments below.

This will be discussed during the City Council meeting tonight, Aug. 8, at 6 p.m.
