Law enforcement aware of planned protest at Cheyenne FBI office this weekend

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Cheyenne Police Department and the local and regional FBI stated that they were aware of a planned protest at the Cheyenne FBI office this weekend.

The protest, which has been promoted over social media, is set to take place on Sunday, Aug. 14 from noon to 2 p.m.

Cheyenne PD has been working with the FBI, with Public Information Officer Alex Farkus stating that officers will be present at the event if needed.

The Denver Regional Office of the FBI said, “We are aware of the planned protests in Cheyenne. The FBI respects the rights of individuals to peacefully exercise their First Amendment rights. We advise individuals taking part in protest activities to remain aware of their immediate surroundings and to report any suspicious activity to local law enforcement.”
