CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Wyoming Highway Patrol is reminding drivers to drive safely after a trooper stopped one driver going 43 mph over the speed limit Friday.
The trooper was patrolling U.S. 85 south of Cheyenne when a vehicle passed by at 108 mph in a 65 mph zone.
“The Wyoming Highway Patrol reminds everyone that speeding can have dangerous consequences,” the patrol’s social media post states. “Speeding causes thousands of deaths and injuries each year. Please slow down and drive safely!”
According to the Highway Patrol’s fatal crash website, there have been 81 deadly crashes on Wyoming highways so far this year compared to 84 in 2021 and 88 in 2020. There were 111 total fatal crashes in 2021 and 128 in 2020.
