CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Wyoming Highway Patrol and Laramie County Fire District #2 will be hosting a free child seat safety check this weekend.
The event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17 at the Laramie County Fire District #2 station located at 410 Horse Creek Road. Residents can have their child seats checked from 10 a.m. to noon. There will also be child seats available at no cost on a limited basis.
Troopers and firefighters will also check for proper installation if you currently have a child seat but need clarification on whether it is installed correctly.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 59% of child seats are incorrectly installed in vehicles.
