CASPER, Wyo. — A group of superfans for the Cincinnati Bengals were so impressed by Bengals linebacker and Casper native Logan Wilson’s performance last Sunday that they decided to write a song.
Technically, the Bengal Boys write a lot of songs for their beloved team, taking a long-held sports tradition of repurposing familiar tunes to celebrate the game.
In this case, the Boys took a beloved classic by The Kinks, morphing “Lola” into “Logan” and expertly rattling off Wilson’s backstory and pro highlights:
In the red zone he’s a goal line shield
Stuffing holes, swatting passes all over the field
La-la-la-la Logan
The video, posted on Jan. 13, shows the Bengal Boys singing Wilson’s praises to a throng of delighted and cheering Bengals fans.
The video comes after Wilson’s impressive playing on Sunday during the Bengals and Ravens postseason game, in which he forced a fumble from Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley near the end zone that led to a historic 98-yard return touchdown by the Bengals’ Sam Hubbard. The Bengals beat the Ravens 24–17.
Wilson, a Natrona County High School grad, went on to play for the University of Wyoming and was drafted by the Bengals in 2020.
