CHEYENNE, Wyo. — In a typically dry month, the National Weather Service in Cheyenne has reported that the city instead had a very wet and snowy start to the year.
The average temperature in Cheyenne was 25.6, which is 3.6 degrees lower than normal. The coldest day was Jan. 29, with a temperature of minus 9 degrees. The warmest day was Jan. 14 at 56 degrees.
Along with the chilly temperatures, Cheyenne had 20.3 inches of snowfall, which is 14 inches more than normal. There was also 1.82 inches of precipitation throughout the month.
Though the city is always windy, the day with the highest wind speeds was Jan. 10 with winds at 54 mph.
