CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Laramie County Library System is accepting applications for a Cataloging Supervisor until Tuesday, March 14 at noon.
A key component to success will be the ability to work collaboratively with the Cataloging Services
team, public service divisions and selectors in order to be proactive in minimizing errors and getting materials out of the Cataloging Service unit and into the public’s hands as efficiently and effectively as possible.
The Cataloging Supervisor works in Adult Services directly assisting patrons for 5–10 hours per week. This ensures the supervisor sees how their work is being utilized by the public. The Cataloging Supervisor works with multiple vendors such as Ingram and Computype to resolve issues and maintain positive relationships.
The unit places the majority of orders once the selectors have completed carts in Ingram and other sources. It receives, invoices, catalogs and processes all new materials for the three facilities and
the bookmobile.
Corrections, mending, and adding gift books are also carried out in the unit. Original cataloging is done by the Cataloging Supervisor.
The Cataloging Services Unit has six employees, including the Cataloging Supervisor. The Cataloging Supervisor supervises the full-time Acquisitions and Cataloging Coordinator and part-time Cataloging Specialist, Cataloging Assistant and two Cataloging Clerks.
The hiring committee will contact applicants who are selected for further testing or interviews. As a courtesy, they will notify all applicants by mail when a position is filled.
