Member of LCCC Dining Services recognized in regional culinary challenge

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Kat Vest, from Laramie County Community College Dining Services, recently earned a bronze medal in a regional culinary challenge, the college announced today.

Vest competed in the National Association of College and University Food Services Culinary Challenge on March 20 in Colorado Springs.

She earned a bronze medal in the Continental Region, which includes states like Wyoming, Utah and Montana.

Vest was the only participant from a community college, according to LCCC.

The Culinary Challenge recognizes culinary expertise within collegiate dining. The challenge is a live competition at the regional level, with regional winners advancing to the National Conference, where they will compete before a live audience.

The winner of the Culinary Challenge is recognized during the National Conference with an award and cash prize, highlighted in Campus Dining Today, the official magazine of NACUFS, and may earn a medal from the American Culinary Federation.
