Laramie County School Board to discuss Preliminary Budget for 2023–24 school year

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Laramie County School District 1 has released its preliminary budget, which will be discussed during the Board of Trustees meeting at 6 p.m. today, May 15.

According to the preliminary report from the district, the projected budget for the 2023–24 school year is $312,252,135.

A total of $224,580,781 of the projected budget will be part of the General Fund, with the money going toward the general operations of the district.

Under the Special Revenues Fund, $35,549,754 would be set aside for Federal Grants and Restricted Funds. $1,750,000 will be used for the Student Activity Fund, with $200,000 being set aside for the Employee Wellness Fund. $40,000 will be used for the Scholarship Fund and $10,280,000 will be put into the Major Maintenance Fund.

The Capital Projects Fund is split into two smaller funds, with $14,936,702 going toward the Capital Construction Fund and $12,291,591 going toward the Special Building Fund.

The money for the Enterprise Fund will also be split in two, with $8,443,004 going into the Nutrition Services Fund and $230,304 going to the Tuition Preschool Fund.

Of the money for the Trust Fund, $1,450,000 will be put into the Health Incentive Trust Fund and $1,200,000 into the Employee Retention Trust Fund.

There will be $2,300,000 placed into the Custodial Funds.
