CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Several Cheyenne-based businesses and organizations are expressing their appreciation for local military veterans.

Veterans Day is a federal holiday in the United States observed annually on Nov. 11 for honoring military veterans of the United States Armed Forces.

Events

  • Cheyenne American Legion, Post 6 will conduct a Veterans Day observance at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11. The ceremony will be held indoors at the American Legion Post 6, located at 2001 E. Lincolnway, Cheyenne. Community members are encouraged to lay a wreath in honor of all fallen veterans and should arrive by 10 a.m. to sign in to place their wreath. Wreaths will be positioned in front of the stage prior to the start of the ceremony.
  • An “Honoring Our Veterans,” concert featuring the Cheyenne Brass Band and Laramie County Community College Wind Ensemble, is set for 3 p.m. Nov. 11 in the Surbrugg/Prentice Auditorium. The concert will feature everything from lighthearted patriotic marches and the drama of battle in musical storytelling to the familiar American anthems fitting to the holiday.
