Cheyenne’s trash, city services to have altered schedules for Thanksgiving week

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Several Cheyenne facilities and offices will have modified schedules for the Thanksgiving holiday. Here is a list of services that may be affected during the holiday week:

City of Cheyenne Offices

City offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24.

Sanitation/Trash and Recycle Schedule

Residents who would typically have trash and recycle pickup on Thursday, Nov. 23 will instead have pickup on Saturday, Nov. 25. Containers should be put outside by 6 a.m.

Trash and recycle pickup will remain as scheduled for Friday, Nov. 24.

The Solid Waste Transfer Station at 220 N. College Drive, Household Hazardous Waste at 220 N. College Drive and Happy Jack Landfill will be closed to observe Thanksgiving Day. Each facility will reopen Friday, Nov. 24.

The Compost Facility at 3714 Windmill Road will be closed Nov. 23 and 24. It will reopen Saturday, Nov. 25.

The Sanitation Division office will be closed Nov. 23 and 24. It will reopen Monday, Nov. 27.

Cheyenne Transit Program

Cheyenne Transit Program offices will be closed Nov. 23 and 24, and busses will not run those days.

Cheyenne Botanic Gardens

The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens and the Paul Smith Children’s Village will be closed Nov. 19–24 for cleaning and repairs. The facilities will reopen Saturday, Nov. 25.

Cheyenne Aquatic Center

The Cheyenne Aquatic Center will be closed on Nov. 23 for Thanksgiving. It will be open Wednesday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 24 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Patrons should check the Aquatic Center website for open swim times.

Cheyenne Ice & Events Center

The Cheyenne Ice and Events Center will be closed on Nov. 23 for Thanksgiving and will be open on Nov. 24 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Patrons should check the Ice and Events Center website for public skating and other scheduled events.
