CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Laramie County School District 1 high school students from Central, East and South will be competing in the Wyoming State Finals for We the People on Dec. 4–5 at the Wyoming State Capitol Extension.
Students will demonstrate their learning on the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights and testify in hearings before panels of judges that include attorneys, law professors, supreme court justices and political scholars, according to a press release.
The state champion will receive an invitation to compete in the national We the People competition in Washington, D.C.
The South High team has taken second place in the last two state competitions and was able to compete in the national finals in April 2023 on a wildcard, the release states.
