CHEYENNE, Wyo. — With the holiday season approaching, community members are starting to order presents for their friends and family members. The Laramie County Sheriff’s Office is promoting tips to prevent those items from being stolen.
Items sitting outside after being delivered are often targeted by porch pirates, the LCSO states. Here are five ways people can protect themselves:
- Track your packages and get them picked up as soon as possible
- Install a video doorbell
- Consider buying a porch lockbox
- Require signature on delivery
- Make it obvious you have a home security system with signs and visible cameras
