CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The interstate roads between Cheyenne, Laramie and the Colorado border have been closed to lightweight and high-profile vehicles as of early Tuesday afternoon.
The Wyoming Department of Transportation announced Tuesday that Interstate 25 between Cheyenne and the Colorado border, I-80 toward Laramie and I-25 northbound toward Chugwater will be closed to lightweight and high-profile vehicles due to blowover risks. Enclosed trailers under 40,000 Gross Vehicle Weight are also restricted.
I-80 eastbound toward Pine Bluffs and U.S. 85 between Cheyenne and Meridian remain open to all traffic.
A high wind watch is currently in effect for the southeast Wyoming region until 5 a.m. Wednesday, per the National Weather Service in Cheyenne.
