CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The 2024–25 season marks Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra’s 70th concert season, and the orchestra is presenting a variety of programs to celebrate.

Highlights of the upcoming season include “How to Train Your Dragon in Concert” as well as favorite symphonic works like Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 featuring Ilya Yakushev; Orff’s “Carmina Burana”; Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5 featuring CSO Concertmaster Stacy Lesartre; and Copland’s “Billy the Kid Suite.”

Less familiar pieces by well-known composers — such as Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 2 and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4 — will also be performed, according to the release.

Other pieces that the CSO will perform are John Adams’s “Short Ride in a Fast Machine,” a new harp concerto by Michael Daugherty and a piece by Native American composer Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate.

Programs this season will include a Latin American concert featuring a bandoneon concerto by the tango composer Astor Piazzolla, soprano aria by Villa Lobos and other pieces marked by strong dance rhythms and percussion; “Holiday Magic,” featuring collaborations with En Avant Dance Studio, Cheyenne Chamber Singers and All-City Children’s Chorus; Movie Music Matinee, featuring music from films such as “The Lego Movie,” “Wonka,” “Barbie,” “Sonic the Hedgehog” and “The Super Mario Bros. Movie”; and Symphony Underground with Gasoline Lollipops at The Lincoln.

“As always, our concerts are designed to inspire, entertain, and move you — as well as to be a fun night out. There’s something so special about hearing the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra live, and sharing that experience with hundreds of other people, all being moved in the moment by music!” the release states.

Season tickets go on sale to the public on June 15, while individual concert tickets will be available starting Aug. 15. The CSO is offering season ticket packages at a variety of price points, ranging from two to five concerts and starting at just over $40 for adults. Season ticket holders will enjoy perks like early access to tickets for extra concerts and events, 10%–20% off individual ticket prices and the option to keep the same seats from year to year. Student tickets are always at least 50% off adult prices. Packages may be purchased by visiting www.cheyennesymphony.org or calling the CSO office at 307-778-8561.
