CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne councilmembers repealed and replaced a 2021 resolution Tuesday night, reconstituting an economic advisory committee.

The Cheyenne City Council established the Innovations and Entrepreneur Advisory Council in February 2021. The board was created under Resolution No. 6127, which councilmembers repealed and replaced with a new resolution Tuesday night. The resolution was part of council’s consent agenda and therefore required no discussion to pass.

The purpose of the board is to identify issues and solutions in the local economy and help foster business longevity. The resolution passed Tuesday night reconstitutes and reauthorizes the board.

The board will now comprise nine members, per the supporting document. The mayor will appoint seven people to the board. The mayor will also nominate one at-large member, who then must be approved by city councilmembers. The ninth member will be a city councilmember appointed by the City Council president. Ideal members of the board would be people with experience in finance, marketing or advertising, building or construction, or information technology.

The Innovations and Entrepreneur Advisory Council will provide an annual report to the city’s governing body, notify the council of accomplishments and progress and achieve other goals.

The resolution can be viewed below.
