Mule deer poached over two months out of hunting season in Idaho

A buck mule deer has been found poached near Lewiston, Idaho.

Idaho Fish and Game said on Thursday Feb. 6 that the buck was likely shot sometime between the afternoon of Thursday, Jan. 30 and the morning of Friday, Jan. 31.

“The 3×4 mule deer buck was found shot and left Friday afternoon, January 31, near the south end of Lindsey Creek Road,” Idaho Fish and Game said. “The mule deer season has been closed for over 2 months in that area.”

A reward for information on the case is being offered.

“Citizens Against Poaching is offering a reward for information in the case and callers can remain anonymous,” Idaho Fish and Game said. “Contact CAP at 1-800-632-5999 twenty four hours a day.”

“Anyone with information regarding the unlawful taking of the mule deer buck can contact the Idaho Department of Fish and Game Regional Office (208)799-5010 on weekdays or the Citizens Against Poaching Hotline at 1-800-632-5999 outside of business hours.”
