City To commemorate 60th anniversary of John K. Kennedy’s visit to Cheyenne

CHEYENNE, Wyo  – Mayor Marian Orr will join residents and local officials to commemorate the 60th anniversary of John F. Kennedy’s historic visit to the City of Cheyenne, according to a press release.

City officials say that Cryptocurrency billionaire and independent candidate for President, Brock Pierce, actor who starred in movies like “The Mighty Ducks,” will be speaking at the event. 

Pierce is officially on the ballot in the State of Wyoming and is visiting the region to meet with local cryptocurrency business leaders.  The State of Wyoming recently approved its first crypto-bank and has become a blockchain destination, the release said.

“Brock is among the nation’s cryptocurrency pioneers, innovating and creating much of the industry we know today.  John F. Kennedy made his first visit to Cheyenne on September 23, 1960, as a candidate for President, visiting Frontier Park, and other members of the Kennedy family were frequent visitors to the city,” according to the city.

Copies of Kennedy’s original speech will be given out to local residents at the anniversary reception, taking place Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at Frontier Park, Cheyenne, WY.
