CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Cheyenne Urban Forestry Division announced today that it will be spraying spruce trees in the city this week.
This is done to prevent Ips beetle infestations at the city parks and properties.
The trunks and larger branches of the trees will be sprayed on calm days this week, in order to minimize the drift of the insecticide.
The city is asking that residents stay away from spraying crews and not park near trees that are being sprayed.
The crews may have to close off parking spaces and the sidewalks in order to give them enough room to work and to ensure that the spray remains in their work area.
If you have questions about the spraying operation or want to learn more about spruce Ips beetles, contact Urban Forestry at 307-637-6428.
