CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Laramie County will reimburse the City of Cheyenne more than $400,000 for its work on the Laramie County Community College/Sweetgrass Underpass following action by commissioners Tuesday.
Completed in July, the underpass cost over $1.9 million, according to a memo to commissioners. The Wyoming Department of Transportation provided $700,000 toward the project, and the county agreed to match the city’s cost of $407,770 while competing for it in 2019.
The underpass is also funded with 2017 voter-approved Sixth Penny Sales Tax and Federal Highway Administration grants.
“This is a fantastic addition to that county,” Chairman Troy Thompson said during Tuesday’s meeting. “Happy to have this and to get the city paid for the work that they did out there.”
