City services, facilities will modify schedules for Thanksgiving

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — With Thanksgiving coming up, the City of Cheyenne has issued a modified schedule for some city services and facilities.

City offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

Residents who typically have trash and recycle pickup on Thursday will have pickup instead on Saturday. They are asked to have containers out by 6 a.m. Trash and recycle pickup remain as scheduled for Friday.

The Solid Waste Transfer Station at 220 N. College Drive, Household Hazardous Waste and Happy Jack Landfill will close for Thanksgiving day and reopen Friday. 

The Compost Facility at 3714 Windmill Road will be closed Thursday and Friday and will reopen Saturday.  

Cheyenne Transit Program offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, and busses will not run. 

The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens and the Paul Smith Children’s Village will be closed Nov. 19–24 for cleaning and repairs and the Thanksgiving holiday. The facilities will reopen on Saturday. 

The Cheyenne Aquatic Center will be closed on Thanksgiving and will be open Wednesday and Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Patrons should check the Aquatic Center website, www.cheyenneaquatics.com, for open swim times.

The Cheyenne Ice and Events Center will be closed on Thanksgiving and will reopen on Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Patrons should check the Ice and Events Center website, www.cheyenneiceandevents.com, for public skating and other scheduled events.
