CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Cheyenne City Council is just one more meeting away from authorizing the creation of a new business park.
At its Monday night meeting, the city’s governing body passed its second reading for an ordinance amending the city’s Unified Development Code. The amendment includes the addition of a Business Park Zone District. The purpose of the new business park is to “provide flexibility for and encourage a variety of uses in large-scale business parks,” per the ordinance.
The new business park would allow the following activities and businesses:
- Community fields
- Service businesses
- Entertainment
- Offices
- Retail businesses
- Automobile repair businesses
- Gas stations
- Restaurants
- Data centers
- Rail services
- Non-polluting industrial uses
- Limited outdoor storage
- Government uses
- Utility stations
The City of Cheyenne’s Planning Commission held a public hearing Sept. 3 for the ordinance. Per the commission’s staff report, the business park aims to replicate the county’s PUD for the North Range Business Park.
The amendment also corrected references regarding the Support Services District.
City councilmembers held a work session in August to discuss the logistics behind forming such a business park. The full meeting can be viewed below.
The ordinance will be brought forward for a third and final reading at City Council’s next meeting Oct. 7.
