Cheyenne Council accepts $1.11M in bids for new police cars, other vehicles

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Cheyenne City Council accepted three bid packages that will get the city new vehicles for its Weed and Pest Division, police department and fire department.

The bid packages together total more than $1.11 million.

Of that, the city will spend $86,514 on two Ford Rangers with additional lights. Ken Garff Cheyenne submitted the only bid, according to city documents.

Ken Garff Cheyenne also submitted the only bid for four trucks for Cheyenne Fire Rescue. The bid is for $324,622, and it will cover a Ford F-250, two Ford Rangers and a Ford F-350. The city is trading in a 2001 Chevy Silverado pickup, a 2013 Jeep Patriot and a 2012 Jeep Liberty, saving $10,207 on the original bid of $334,829.

Dana Safety Supply won the bid to supply 10 new four-door 2024/2025 model utility Police Interceptors. The Livingston, Montana, company’s bid of $703,288.39 beat out Ken Garff Cheyenne’s bid of $741,752.

Other Bids

On Monday, the council sent five bids for the Childs Draw South Tributary Drainage Enhancements project to the city’s Finance Committee.

The council is asking the Finance Committee to consider the low bid submitted by Pine Bluffs Gravel & Excavating. It submitted a bid of $465,104.75 for the work.

The other four bids were $510,162.50 from Full Tilt Services, $619,998.75 from Knife River, $857,224.92 from Resource Construction and $971,039.36 from Rocky Mountain Sand.
