CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Three defunct city boards were dissolved Monday after the City Council approved a resolution for the actions.

The boards dissolved include the Greater Cheyenne Arts Advisory Council, the Cheyenne Community Forestry Committee and the City of Cheyenne Personnel Committee.

According to the resolution, attached below, it’s unknown when the arts advisory council stopped conducting business on the city’s behalf. However, its mission has continued on through the creation of Arts in Public Places, an advisory committee that encourages and enhances artistic expression and appreciation through the acquisition, exhibition and maintenance of public art.

The city’s forestry committee has long been inactive, but its mission has been adopted by Rooted in Cheyenne. The nonprofit organization works with the Cheyenne Urban Forestry Division to improve the city’s urban forest, the resolution states.

The City of Cheyenne Personnel Commission was created on May 27, 1986, to provide aid in the interpretation of city employee rules and regulations, to consider and decide employee grievances and to make recommendations to the mayor and City Council. Over the years, the commission became less active and was terminated on June 14, 2021.

Despite its termination, information on the commission remains on the city’s website. The resolution allows for that information to be removed.

The resolution is attached below:
