CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The city has approved contract extensions for various services, including hazard waste disposal, electronics recycling and asbestos and lead paint abatement work.
The Cheyenne City Council approved three contracts costing over $400,000 at its Tuesday night meeting. The first contract is with Veolia ES Technical Solutions LLC. The company has been providing hazardous waste disposal services to the city since 2022 and was initially paid $200,000. The city is now extending its contract with Veolia for another two years for an additional $200,000. The city is compensating Veolia via money from its Solid Waste Fund.
A professional services agreement with I.T. Refresh was also extended for an additional two years. The company provides the city with electronic recycling services. The original contract was approved in early 2022. The city initially paid I.T. Refresh $200,000 and will sign the company a check for another $200,000 from the Solid Waste Fund for the extended contract.
The city’s contract with Orion Environmental Inc. for its part in the Cheyenne Railcar Project has also changed. The company was originally receiving $473,028 to work on the Asbestos and Lead Paint Abatement Project. The contract has changed so that Orion Environmental receives an added $91,846 for interior removal of asbestos and lead on the city’s four historic railcars. The new contract is $564,874 and is paid out through the ARPA funds, the city’s general fund and an EDA grant.
Aside from contract modifications, Cheyenne councilmembers approved a bid to receive laptops and docking stations for its IT Division. The $78,997.44 bid came from telecom provider ClearConnect.
