BOPU customers may experience discolored water

(Environmental Protection Agency)

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Board of Public Utilities customers may temporarily experience discolored water due to filling of the new north city water storage tank.

Customers who experience discolored water Wednesday should run cold water from a faucet for approximately 20–30 minutes. Begin with the lowest faucet in your home and then open the other faucets one at a time, moving from the lowest floor to the highest. Avoid using hot water or doing laundry while the water is discolored to prevent sediment and minerals from being drawn into water heaters or from coming into contact with clothing.

Although the discolored water is not Cheyenne’s usual standard for water quality, the water is safe.
