Cheyenne announces holiday sanitation, facility changes

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne residents can expect several changes to city services and facilities during the Thanksgiving holiday.

City offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28–29, to observe the holiday. Most city services and facilities will adjust their schedules accordingly.


Sanitation and trash collection

Residents with scheduled trash and recycling pickup on Thursday, Nov. 28 will have their service delayed to Saturday, Nov. 30. To ensure timely collection, containers should be placed outside by 6 a.m.

On Friday, Nov. 29, pickups will remain on schedule.

The Solid Waste Transfer Station, Happy Jack Landfill, Compost Facility and Household Hazardous Waste will close on Nov. 28 and reopen the following day.


Transportation and recreational facilities

The Cheyenne Transit Program will close its offices and suspend bus services on Nov. 28–29. Regular operations will resume Monday, Dec. 2.

The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens will close its Grand Conservatory and the Paul Smith Children’s Village from Nov. 24 through Nov. 29 for maintenance and the holiday. The facilities will reopen Saturday, Nov. 30. Residents can visit www.botanic.org for details.

The Cheyenne Aquatic Center, BEAST Recreation Center and Cheyenne Ice and Events Center will close on Nov. 28–29, with the Ice Center reopening Nov. 29 for scheduled events.


Golf courses and additional details

Both the Airport Golf Course and Kingham Prairie View Golf Course will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. For more information, patrons should visit the Airport Golf Club website at airportgolfclub.com.
