CHEYENNE, Wyo. — All city employees will receive a pay bonus for displaying “exceptional commitment to reducing costs and improving operating efficiency.”
The Cheyenne City Council passed a resolution Monday night rewarding city staff with one-time payments. All full-time employees will receive $2,000, and part-time staff will get $1,000. The bonuses only apply to permanent employees and exclude elected officials or staff of the Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities.
The city has authorized the one-time payments following significant savings during fiscal year 2024. According to the resolution, the city managed to hold onto $3,212,870 in its General Fund thanks to the cost-saving measures staff carried out.
