CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Cheyenne Historic Preservation Board is continuing to accept nominations for two annual awards.

The Dubois Award is for exceptionally significant preservation efforts on residential properties. Properties must have the following to be qualified:

  • Be primarily used as a residence
  • Have a Cheyenne mailing address
  • Be more than 50 years old

The board considers guidelines for ranking integrity, restoration and other factors of historic preservation to select award recipients.

The LeClercq Jones Award is for non-residential properties — including businesses, schools, churches, public buildings, and social organizations — in recognition of exceptional historic preservation efforts through restoration and/or maintenance of the structure. Nominees for this award must be non-residential buildings over 50 years old with a Cheyenne mailing address.

Both awards will be presented in May during National Historic Preservation Month. The submission deadline is Jan. 1.
